Sue Supports... Northampton Town
About Sue...
Sue has a touching and sometimes inexplicable attachment to Northamptonshire. Born and educated in Northampton, she grew up as a football obsessed child, and when the glory hunters all around her supported Leeds, Liverpool, Chelski etc..she remained true to the Cobblers. Her footballing skills were honed during the 70’s in the play ground at Kingsthorpe Grove School wearing flares, platform shoes and chasing a tennis ball with a pack of boys. Sue went on to play Women’s football but hung her boots up along ago.
Sue’s first profession, after graduating, was as a Sound Recordist for the BBC, where she spent 12 years. She has worked on Match of the Day and was lucky enough to be part of the 1992 European Cup Final at the old Wembley Stadium.
Sue then decided to retrain and became a teacher. For the last ten years she has taught both adults and children within a variety of organisations in Northamptonshire.
Her Role...
Sue’s role as Welfare Officer is to help clubs ensure they are safeguarding the children and young people that play and officiate grassroots football within Northamptonshire.
