The FA Charter StandardWhat is the FA Charter Standard and why should my club get involved? The FA Charter Standard Scheme is a core component of The FA Football Development programme. The scheme establishes minimum standards for football development and acts as a quality assurance mechanism recognising well run schools, colleges, clubs and holiday courses. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all.

The Pathway
How to become a Charter Standard Club? Lets us show you the pathway from Club to FA Charter Standard Club
Pathway 1 Download Charter Standard Club Introductory pack and application form by clicking the related document on the right, and familiarise yourself with what criteria your club needs to meet for it to achieve the award.
Pathway 2 Contact Lee Brown (details above) or the NorthamptonshireFA HQ where a member of the Development Team will be happy to assist you through the early stages and explain the criteria in more detail. Following the initial phone call or meeting you will have a better idea of the pathway of action to follow and a better understanding of the process and what is involved.
Pathway 3 Once information is passed onto your club and the club is in agreement to proceed, then you are on you way. This is when we can assist you even further to achieve that end goal. There will of course be questions and areas for clarification. We will support you all the way on the phone, by club visits or if you prefer, you can come into the office for more direct support from the team.
Pathway 4 Once we have received your completed application, we carefully checked all the criteria has been met, and will advise of any evidence missing or criteria not quite met. Pathway 5 is achieved when we have a fully competed application.
Pathway 5 The application is checked over to see that all the criteria is met
Pathway 6 The application is sent to the National FA for final approval.
Pathway 7 & Destination Destination and Goal! Your club is now an FA Charter Standard Club. The club will be contacted directly by the National FA with your award and Northamptonshire FA will arrange to present you with your well earned award. Well done!
