Club History...
Brackley Town were formed in 1890 and spent their early years in the South Northants and North Oxfordshire leagues.
In 1974 they moved to their current location progressing through the leagues, reaching the Southern League in the late 1990’s. After relegation back to the Hellenic league the club reformed and through the early part of the century regained their Southern league status, indeed achieving promotion to the Premier Division in 2007. In 2008/09 the club reached the First Round of the FA Cup after a long cup run that culminated in narrow defeat to Eastwood Town.
Alongside this progress the club has developed its Youth section and Ladies team. Both are now established, the Youth section having 14 teams from ages Under 8’s to Under 16’s, competing in either the Witney & District Youth League, The MK and Border Counties League or the Midland Junior Premier League. There is also a Soccer Development Section that runs on Saturday morning in term times primarily for children aged 5 – 7. All the coaches and Managers are minimum Level 1 trained and all have CRB clearance through the FA.
The past two years have seen a very successful Youth Tournament held at the club. Matches are played on the First Team pitch – widely regarded as one for the best playing surfaces in the Southern League. The tournament is held on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May.
The club are now looking to the future to secure a base for local players to play through a youth system and have the opportunity to play senior football at a high level. 2008/09 saw several of the clubs Under 16 and 18 players make their debuts for the first team.
