The course looks to build on the candidate’s knowledge and acts as a stepping stone to the FA Youth Award Module 1 “Developing the Environment” and the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football.
Who is the course intended for?
The course has an open entry level although we recommend that coaches undertake the FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football prior to attendance. Any coaches and qualified teachers (QTS) who wish to increase their knowledge and confidence in coaching football to young people

Managing Difference in your coaching sessions
The STEP principle
An introduction to Learning Preferences
The Coaching Environment
Fundamental Movements (ABC's)
Session Planning & Management
Practical:
Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:
-Fundamental Movements
-Application of the STEP principle
-Adaptation of coaching sessions related to the age and ability levels of players
Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award).
