1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

1st4sport Level 2 Coaching Certificate in Football Course (L2CCF) Awarded in partnership with The FA. The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football is the next step towards becoming a recognised football coach. This Course replaces the Coaching Certificate / UEFA ‘B’ Part 1 qualification. The Certificate offers candidates a combination of practical experience and class-based theory, to develop an understanding of the planning, conducting and evaluation of ethical football coaching sessions. 

Qualification Outline

This qualification is matched to the Level 2 National Occupational Standards for Coaching, Teaching and Instructing and sits at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework. The qualification is recognised to contribute to the achievements of Part One of the UEFA 'B' Coaching Award.

Who Should Enrol?

There are no formal prerequisites for this award, but completion of the Level 1 Coaching Certificate in Football or JTM award is a useful introduction. Anybody over 16 years of age with regular practical experience of participation in football, who is looking for an introduction to the vocational area of coaching Association Football.

What Will I Learn?

On successfully achieving this recognised qualification candidates will be able to:

develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching proces
plan,conduct and evaluate a series of football coaching sessions
coach the basic skills and techniques of football
promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels
ensure the health and safety of players and others within the coaching environment
develop greater responsibility for their own learning and development
promote the sport in a positive and constructive manner
demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games.
Course Itinerary

The Student must demonstrate competence in practical coaching and satisfactorily complete a range of theory worksheets. The amount of time the Student has to dedicate to the course is as follows:

Initial 6 Days Training - 54 Hours
Support Days - 16 Hours
Laws of the Game - 4 Hours
Assessment Weekend - 16 Hours

The Student is also required to undertake at least 16 hours of practical Coaching experience in the 3 to 4 months following the initial training week. These hours need to be recorded in the provided Log Book.

How is the Qualification Assessed?

Candidates will be assessed via knowledge tests, projects, assignments and assessments of their practical coaching during the training. Following a period of practice after the course, there is a further assessment of practical coaching ability and oral questions on performance, knowledge and understanding.

Here are a list of Level 2 courses which have been planned to run by Northamptonshire CFA. The course fee is £250 or £235 for Charter Standard Clubs / Schools until July 31st 2009.
