Grange Park
Friday 25th September saw the launch of a new girl’s football fun session at Grange Park Community Centre from 7-8pm for 7-12 year old girls. The sessions are being run by FA qualified coaches with full CRB checks, First aid, Safeguarding children and Level 2 FA coaching certificates.
The aim of the new sessions is for girls to come along and have a go at football with other girls, learning new skills, tricks and to make new friends who also enjoy playing football.
There are a couple of football clubs in the local area but none that specifically cater for girl’s football, yet. The idea is to get enough interest to hopefully generate a new girl’s team that can link to a local Charter Standard club. Many clubs who started one female team now have several teams in many different age groups and we hope this will encourage clubs to develop and widen their appeal to girls.
The session is an hour long and costs £2, and payment can be made directly to the coaches at the sessions. There will be male and female coaches at the sessions, which are open to those who are complete beginners as well as those who have played already.
