Player Profile

Our player profile is based on Hannah Bodily of the Under 12s Northampton Town Centre of Excellence.Northampton Town Girls Centre of Excellence has been running for 10 years. They have teams at U10, 12, 14 and 16 age groups. The girls who play at the Centre of Excellence full time are only permitted to play for Northampton Town. These girls train twice a week and play friendlies against teams such as Luton Town and MK Dons. The U16s play in a league with the likes of Cambridge City, Ipswich and Norwich.

We spoke to the captain of the Under 12’s about her footballing story so far.

Position: Defence/Midfield and also Captain of the U12s

Fave male player: John Terry

Fave female player: Kelly Smith

Role model: My dad and Vicky, a friend who plays football too.

Best moment playing football: Scoring my first goal

Biggest achievement: Winning the cup when we were 2-0 down with 2 minutes to go when I played for Bedford.

How did you get into football? I used to just play in the garden and then one of my friends asked me to play for a team. I played at Bedford and then I was picked to have a trial at Northampton Town.

What advice would you give anyone who wants to take up football?
Never quit! Keep going.

What is so good about your club? We get to go on football tours overseas.

What is your football ambition? To play for England
