Discipline

Northamptonshire Football Association is responsible for maintaining Discipline at Grassroots Level across the County, and abides by the procedures issued annually by the Football Association.

Discipline at Grassroots level has changed a great deal in the last few seasons, due to a desire from clubs and players to receive suspensions in line with those issued in the higher echelons of the game.

Changes from Time-Based discipline to Match-Based discipline were first introduced to grassroots football at the start of the 2006/07 season when the new system took effect at Steps 5 and 6.

This season, 2011/12, we see Match Based discipline being introduced to ALL open aged football. The system now involves Open Aged Saturday teams, Open Aged Sunday teams, Womens, Veterans and U21s.

All youth football, including U18s, will for this season remain on the traditional Time Based system.

If you have any discipline queries, or if there is something you feel should be added to the Discipline section of the website, please contact Becky Greaves on 01604 678403 or Rebecca.Greaves@NorthamptonshireFA.com.
