The Peterborough & District Football League is delighted to announce details of an exciting new football league, aimed at providing men with the opportunity to play midweek 11-a-side football on two of the best surfaces in the region.

It is seeking players and teams to enter the new FA Elevens leagues, which kick-off in May 2016 at Netherton United and Yaxley FC.

The two new leagues will consist of six teams each and will run concurrently on the state of the art, full-size, floodlit 3G pitches.

The league based at Yaxley will run on Tuesday nights and Netherton’s league will be Thursday nights, giving teams opportunity to play on a night that best suits them, playing 50-minute matches on a weekly basis.

After each team plays their five matches, the top teams from each league will progress to a finals night, where the inaugural Peterborough FA Elevens champions will be crowned.

The new leagues are being delivered by the forward-thinking PDFL, supported by Northamptonshire FA and Huntingdonshire FA.

Stuart Smith, Football Development Officer at Northamptonshire FA, said: “The PDFL is offering players who may struggle to commit to weekend matches, due to work, family or other social reasons, the chance to still enjoy 11-a-side football. If you like the idea of playing 11-a-side football at a superb facility, then get in touch with the league today.”
