FA Girls' Football Week
Together, we can get every girl in Northamptonshire playing football this October.
During the week 10th-16th October, The FA, its partners and the Northamptonshire FA will be focused on impacting the lives of as many girls as possible, as we embark of another FA Girls’ Football Week.
The aim of the week is to engage a further 22,000 participants, focusing on those in further and higher education.
In April earlier this year, more than 52,000 girls took part in the first Girls’ Football Week activities, which were delivered in schools, clubs, community groups and wider organisations across the country – and Northamptonshire FA is aiming to help double the original target of participants this October by focusing on participants within our county.
What is FA Girls’ Football Week?
During FA Girls’ Football Week, the whole country gears up to encourage female-specific football sessions in local clubs, schools and community groups, and create school-club links.
The week helps The FA to measure progress towards our ultimate goal – to double female participation by 2020.
In order for The FA to measure progress, we ask everybody taking part to log their activity.

If schools can create more opportunities for girls to try football, then hopefully more will love playing.”
