Three Northamptonshire FA Clubs Feature in FA Cup Draw

After a frustrating 1-1 draw at the weekend, Northamptonshire FA affiliated Peterborough Sports secured their place in the next round thanks to a 2-0 victory in their replay on Tuesday night.

Sports will now play Northern Premier League Premier Division side Stafford Rangers at home in the first qualifying round of the competition.

Elsewhere in the competition there were mixed results for some other Northamptonshire FA affiliated sides, as Corby Town, ON Chenecks, Desborough Town, Wellingborough Town and Cogenhoe United were all eliminated.

However, it was good news for AFC Rushden & Diamonds who cruised to a 4-0 victory over Wellingborough Town at their former home, The Dog & Duck Stadium. In the next round, The Diamonds have been drawn away to Tiyidale, who participate in the West Midlands League.

The other Northamptonshire FA side remaining in the competition is Kettering Town, who play their first match away at Romulus FC on Saturday 2 September.

All first round qualifying games are to be played on Saturday 2 September.
