Key Futsal Appointments Made

Northamptonshire FA is delighted to announce the appointment of three new futsal league co-ordinators to further develop the game locally.

The three successful candidates will co-ordinate the County FA’s adult futsal leagues, played at Arena Sport Kettering and Moulton College.

Johnathon Driscoll, from Wellingborough, will co-ordinate the long-running Kettering FA Futsal Fives league, which is played on Tuesday nights at Arena Sport Kettering. Johnathon is a Sport Development & Management graduate from the University of Bedfordshire and played futsal whilst at University.

Sophie Mullett, from Rothwell, takes on the responsibility for the Northants Women’s Futsal League, which is played on Thursday nights at Arena Sport Kettering. Sophie is a level 1 futsal coach and plays for Corby Steelers Futsal Club.

Rory Clark, from Corby, is the new co-ordinator of the Northants Premier Futsal League, played on Friday nights at Moulton College. Rory has a long-standing interest in local sport and was previously Chairman of Corby Town Supporters Trust.

Stuart Smith, Football Development Officer who leads on futsal is delighted with the new appointments. He said “I’m really pleased to welcome Johnathon, Sophie and Rory to the NFA team. They each have skills and experience that’ll help push futsal on in Northants and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”

Northants FA would like to place on record its thanks and gratitude to Sam Hallett, who resigned from the post of Kettering FA Futsal Fives League Co-ordinator in June 2017. Sam has been instrumental in the growth of futsal in Northamptonshire and has introduced hundreds of local players to the game. Sam will continue with futsal through his significant involvement with Northamptonshire’s first FA Charter Standard futsal club - Kettering Futsal Club.
