From a footballing perspective the game was evenly matched with both teams producing some nice football.
Physically, Leicestershire were very strong and this certainly gave them the edge, however, after an even first half, Leicestershire took the lead with practically their first attempt at goal.
Northamptonshire did have some terrific attempts on goal and forced the Leicestershire ‘keeper into some outstanding saves but Leicestershire went into the half-time break 1-0 ahead.
In the second half Leicestershire really took control of the game and scored four good goals to give the home side a deserved victory.
Whilst both teams played some nice football, Leicestershire overpowered Northamptonshire but the game was a credit to both teams.
