Nike Partner Club is a joint collaboration between Nike and The FA which is exclusively available in England to FA Charter Standard Community and Development Clubs. The goal is to raise standards in grassroots football, from investment in coaching accreditation courses to supporting clubs in raising their profile and identity in their communities, becoming a Nike Partner Club provides an exciting opportunity for development to leading clubs

From beginning to end, both teams received the luxury treatment and were made to feel like professional footballers. Having access to St George’s Park’s world-class sports facilities, the teams changed in the England team's dressing room, and had a pre-match meal before taking to the England Squad’s training pitch for a pre-match warm up. The match itself was played at a high tempo whilsts being competitive but fair. Both sides created ample chances and showcased their skills. With all three goals coming in the first-half, the match ended 2-1 to Glossop Juniors.

It was decided that both managers should pick a Man of the Match from the opposing team. Teversal FC chose Lee McNamara as the Glossop Juniors Man of the Match and Glossop Juniors chose Luke Bacon as the Teversal Man of the Match.

Speaking after the match, Glossop Juniors Chairman Dave Rowlinson said: “What an absolutely fantastic experience for all our players, the managers, coaches and parents. It exemplifies what the Nike Partner Club and what that relationship is. To come here and play at St George’s Park, the home of England, is fantastic experience for everybody.

“But that’s just one of the benefits, we get lots of benefits. Major one is a brilliant relationship with our kit supplier which means when we order kit, it comes really quick. We have a dedicated account manager who looks after us, so as soon as we place an order we know they’re going to come through.

“We also receive a rebate every 12 months, which is important because it means we can keep investing in our kit and equipment to make sure that all the children and young adults have the best equipment available.

“Another benefit is the bursary, the year before last we had 25 teams, this year we have 38 so we’re expecting a nice cheque from Nike, which means we can invest in our coaches by sending them on courses. Again, money that we would normally allocate from our subscriptions means we can invest in our coaches to make them better which then feeds itself out onto the pitch.”

Other benefits of being a Nike Partner Club include:

•    Market leading discounts & rebate packages
•    Carrying a stock of the club’s selected home match kit to offer the highest levels of service possible
•    £100 coaching voucher per team to be redeemed against any FA accredited course, thus allowing your club to have more and/or more highly qualified coaches.
•    Opportunities such as, Premier League & England international match tickets
•    Sneak previews of new product lines before general release.
•    Dedicated Nike Partner Club manager & much more.
