A very warm welcome to our October Newsletter, the first in what we hope will be a season full of competition, friendship and most of all, fun, as we return from 2 years of virus-hit football.  
It’s great to be back playing and for the staff at the NFA, to be back in the office on a more consistent basis. Whilst the staff team is now ‘streamlined’ to reflect the effects of COVID-19, we can assure everyone that we are nonetheless dedicated to providing a level of service that football in this county deserves.

We are now also supported by a new Board of Directors, including some new faces who will assist us in maintaining the progress we have been making in the development of the game in Northamptonshire during this period of uncertainty. October sees football celebrate Black History Month and we are delighted that the NFA’s Inclusion Advisory Group have been busy highlighting the pioneers of change within the game in our county. Watch out for social media posts and website articles as we join everyone in celebrating the contributions of those that have made our beautiful game so inclusive and diverse.

And, on the subject of inclusion, we are delighted to be launching the new Women’s Walking Football League this Sunday 17th at Redwell Leisure Centre in Wellingborough. Thanks to the hard work of Sandra Riley, Linda Thomas and Mel Blackmore, the league (only the second WWFL in the country) gets under way from 10.00am.

Finally, I would like to thank each and every volunteer that has kept the game we all love alive in the most difficult of circumstances. Only with that unwavering support for the grassroots game have we been able to maintain a strong and vibrant infrastructure that provides football for people of all ages, genders, religions, cultures and beliefs in a safe and welcoming environment.
