Applications open for Young Volunteer programme 2024-25

You can now apply to be part of Young Volunteer programme for the new season.

Launched last year, the aim of the Young Volunteer Programme is to produce a core group of volunteer ambassadors for the organisation, creating a sustainable influence into local community clubs, before potentially progressing up through the youth volunteering ranks all the way up to The FA National Youth Council.

The programme will also see young people embedded into our regular activities and have an influence on the decision-making process at Northamptonshire FA, to ensure our events and projects are in the best interests of young people across our county.

Visit our dedicated Young Volunteer Programme page to find out more about the opportunities available.

Application Criteria:

~Aged 16-24
~Based in Northamptonshire
~Involved or interested in being involved in grassroots football

We had fantastic success with this programme last season and are looking to follow that up with an even better programme for 2024/25.

What they said
Hear from some of the people involved in last season’s programme to find out why you should get involved.

Oliver Stuart Hill, a member of last year's programme and Youth Council Representative said: "The Young Volunteer Programme has been a great experience this year, it has helped me take my next steps in my career as well as continuing to open doors within the football world through workshops, visits and youth council."

Iona Smith, a member of last season's programme and Youth Council Chair, added: "The Young Volunteer Programme allowed me to experience many new things and pick up lots of new skills. The programme was engaging and flexible around people’s availability. I would highly recommend the programme to anybody who is interested!"

Northamptonshire FA's Communications & Projects coordinator & Project Lead, James Lock, also underlined the great impact the programme has had.

"It is great to be able to offer another year of learning experiences which will give young people within our football community chance to develop a better understanding of the football development landscape,” he said.

“We had a really strong group of candidates join us for last year’s programme which led to having great success, and I am looking forward to seeing how this group further develops as they now start to act as volunteer ambassadors within our youth council. There are a lot of hard-working young volunteers across Northamptonshire and it will be great to recruit another twelve of these to our organisation and strengthen this network."

So, whether you are acting as a referee, coach or volunteer we welcome you to apply for this great opportunity.
