The Northampton Town Football & Education Programme allows boys and girls aged 16-19 the opportunity to combine their post-16 education with continuing their footballing development at the only professional club in Northamptonshire.

Based at the NTFC Education Centre St. Crispins Campus, there is the opportunity to study for a Level 2 or 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence), which opens up a whole range of post-18 pathways into Higher Education, Advanced Apprenticeships, Employment or even US Scholarships. There are opportunities to be supported in achieving other footballing qualifications, such as coaching and refereeing, and also lots of opportunities to gain work experience in a whole range of areas within a professional football club.

Along with up to 15 hours of education, there is a bespoke football programme consisting of up to 8 hours of training along with games representing Northampton Town FC. Male players play games in the National Football Youth League and females compete in the EFL Trust Futsal League. Whilst part of the Programme, you can still continue to play for local sides, so the Programme offers an excellent opportunity to get high level coaching with UEFA-qualified coaching staff to improve all aspects of your footballing ability.

For players that excel on the football side of the Programme, opportunities are provided to progress to higher levels. Several players have trained regularly with the NTFC U18 side and in 2019, Scott Pollock became the first former FEP Scholar to make his 1st team debut for the club.

If you are interested in following in Scott’s footsteps, or you just want the chance to improve your football whilst keeping your post-18 options open, please email shane.goddard@ntfc.co.uk for more information and about how you can apply to join the Programme.
