Local MP to officially open Moulton FC's new all-weather pitch

Chris Heaton-Harris, MP for Daventry, will unveil a brand-new all-weather pitch for Moulton FC on Saturday 18 August at 2.30pm. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund.

The grant has enabled Moulton FC, who play in the Northamptonshire Combination League at Step 7, to install a brand-new floodlit state-of-the-art third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP). This will not only benefit its 20 teams, but also disabled footballers in the local area as Northampton Town Football in the Community Trust will use the site to deliver disability sessions.

The new facility is set to enable Moulton FC to double in size, taking the number of teams at the club up from 20 to 40. This is expected to result in an increase of nearly 1,300 people playing football at the site, which represents a 376% growth. In addition to this, five new women and girls’ teams will help to create a 443% increase in female participation.

The project was made possible thanks to a £499,421 grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund, which is delivered by the Football Foundation.

Since 2000, the Football Foundation Funding Partners’ investment has provided 175 grants worth £6.7m towards grassroots sports projects worth over £11.8m across the whole of Northamptonshire.
