Huge congratulations to Northamptonshire FA-affiliated team Sands United FC, who have been crowned the Daily Mirror & TSB Team of the Year 2018 at the Pride of Sport awards.

Sands United, who were set up in 2018 as an affiliated team having previously played in friendlies across the country, consist of a group of bereaved fathers from Northamptonshire.

The team’s mission is to spread the message of the Sands charity across the country and to build a network whereby players can talk to each other about their experiences with other men who understand what they are going through.

The prestigious Pride of Sport Awards are supported by Sport England and were held on 6 December 2018. Since the awards, Sands United went on to win their first league match last Sunday (9 December).

Once again, huge congratulations to everyone at Sands United FC from Northants FA.
