A role model from footballer to officer
A memorial for Walter Tull – former Northampton Town footballer and the first black officer to lead British soldiers into battle in WW1 – will be held at the Walter Tull statue in the Guildhall courtyard in Northampton on Saturday 24 March.
The free memorial service will begin at 1pm before talks and refreshments are available from 1:30pm – with tickets for the latter priced at £6.50.
