Our Under-18 Representative Squad fell to a 4-2 defeat to Leicestershire & Rutland County FA on Sunday 11 March.

Northamptonshire FA’s Under-18 Representative Squad fell to a 4-2 defeat against Leicestershire & Rutland County FA at Corby Town’s Steel Park on Sunday 11 March.

The game started in a lively manner, with both teams trying to gain advantage. The NFA ‘keeper was forced into making a good save early on before the NFA had a good effort of their own, which went just wide on 15 minutes. 

However, Leicestershire FA went 1-0 ahead in the 25th minute after breaking up an NFA attack. The NFA’s response was immediate, with the equaliser coming in the form of a penalty just three minutes later.

Just before half-time, having endured some pressure from Leicestershire FA, the NFA scored and went into the break 2-1 ahead.

The second half got off to a lively start and the NFA had some chances to score, but Leicestershire FA responded by equalising in the 60th minute.

Following a spell of end-to-end football, Leicestershire FA went ahead in the 70th minute from a free kick just outside of the NFA box.

The NFA were fighting back and had chances to equalise, but Leicestershire FA took the game beyond them in the 82nd minute to go 4-2 ahead.
