Northamptonshire FA’s first-ever County Cup for Walking Football teams is now open for entries.

Attached to the largest five-a-side competition in the country - The FA People’s Cup - the event will double-up as Northamptonshire FA’s Walking Football County Cup.

The finalists will compete for the glory of progressing to the next round of The FA People’s Cup, as well as the title of Northamptonshire’s first-ever Walking Football County Cup winners!

The FA People’s Cup takes place across hundreds of venues in England across the weekend of 23 and 24 February 2019. After two further qualifying rounds, the national finals will be played at St George’s Park in April.

Our Walking Football competition (for men & women aged 50+) will be staged on:

Saturday 23 February

2pm – 5pm

Stuart Smith, who leads the development of Walking Football in Northants, said: “We’re really excited about linking up with The FA People’s Cup to launch our first-ever Walking Football County Cup.

“Our recreational programme continues to grow, with 25 sessions now offered across the County. The time feels right to offer a more competitive option for our walking footballers and the incentive of playing at St George’s Park fits perfectly!”
