Northamptonshire FA is delighted to announce that Cambridge United Futsal Club’s Head Coach, Luis Mendonca, will be delivering a free coaching session on Sunday 23 June at Arena Sport Kettering. 

Scheduled to take place between 9:30am-12:15pm, Luis will be leading coaches through a number of activities and sessions that can be adapted for grassroots football and futsal to help develop young players. 

Specifically, the session will introduce attendees to the basic principles of futsal – attacking, defending and transitions – whilst progressing from 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and into the final 5v5. A high volume of tactical and technical details will also be explored, making the session an ideal learning opportunity for youth coaches of any age group. 

The session would be perfect for those currently holding either Level 1 Futsal or Football coaching badges, as well as those hoping to progress their knowledge of futsal even further. Alternatively, any aspiring football or futsal coaches yet to gain qualifications are also most welcome. 

By taking the session, Luis brings with him a wealth of experience of futsal having led Cambridge to a 9th place finish in the FA Futsal Super League 2018/19, as well as a runners-up spot in the men’s FA Futsal Cup 2019.
