Football Facilities in Northants - Have Your Say

We are inviting football club officials to have their say on football facilities in their local area.

Soon every local authority area in England will have a Local Football Facility Plan (LFFP) to accurately target investment into four types of football facilities:

• Improving grass pitches

• Changing rooms / pavilions

• 3G artificial turf pitches

• Small sided facilities

The purpose of a LFFP is to identify priority projects for potential investment. We’re keen to hear from all football clubs in Northamptonshire to help us identify the sites that, with investment, can help us improve football for everyone.

Stuart Smith, who is leading on the LFFPs for Northants FA, said: “It’s vital that our clubs input into these plans. This survey enables all clubs to have a say on what facilities need improving for their teams for both training and matches. We also want to hear about issues your club might be facing around leases, pitch maintenance, possible lack of access to good facilities and any current facility projects your club is working on that we might be able to help you with.”

The LFFP consultation period is currently open and we welcome comments from your club officials through the survey. Please ensure that the survey is completed by an individual with appropriate authority to speak on behalf of the committee (this would normally be the Chairman). Please complete one survey per club.

The closing date to complete the survey is Monday 21 October 2019.

Whilst a LFFP identifies priority projects for potential investment, it does not guarantee the success of future funding applications. Each project must still follow an application process to show how it will deliver key participation outcomes, become a quality & sustainable facility and demonstrate suitable match-funding.

When each project is in a position to proceed, the Football Foundation will determine a suitable time-frame to submit a grant application and pre-application support will be provided by Northamptonshire FA and the Football Foundation.
