Update from NFA on Coronavirus

Wednesday 18th March - 6pm

We would like to remind people that while the FA have stated no footballing activity, should you go against this your insurance may be invalid.

We have seeked clarification from Sportsguard who have confirmed that should teams and/or clubs go against the guidelines to not train or play during this period then their insurance will be invalid.

We are aware not all clubs get their insurance through Sportsguard, so should your club use a different provider, we advise you seek clarification from them regarding their guidelines.

Tuesday 17th March - 9.30am

Following the Government announcement yesterday, and the FA’s subsequent statement that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future we wanted to confirm that this relates to all football activity at grassroots level including training sessions, friendlies and fixtures.

As the health and wellbeing of our staff team here at the NFA is a priority for us, we have also taken the decision to close the office with immediate effect; with all team members working remotely from today.  We will endeavor to provide the same level of service to you, but please bear with us. If you have any enquiries we request that you email rather than telephone to ensure a speedy response.

The FA is in regular communication with the Government and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates from Northamptonshire FA will follow in due course.
If you have any questions relating to the above please email the office.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

CEO

Monday 16th March - 6pm

Following the Government’s announcement today, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, we are now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.

Throughout this period, we have taken Government advice with the priority being the health and wellbeing of all. We will continue to work closely with the grassroots game during this time.

We are in regular communication with the Government and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates will follow as needed.

Monday 16th March - 4pm

Northants FA are currently following advice from the Government and from the FA in regards to footballing activity in the County. The FA released a statement on Friday which stated "The FA is liaising with the National League pyramids (men’s and women’s) and will continue to offer guidance and support. Any decision to continue playing or to postpone their respective competitions is a matter for each league as autonomous bodies within the game".

Therefore, at this time, the decision to continue with games is down to individual leagues.

As soon as we get any further updates regarding this, we will inform leagues / clubs accordingly.
