Northamptonshire Girls Advanced Coaching Centre Goes From Strength to Strength

Lockdown isn't stopping these girls...

Despite no football, Northamptonshire FA's Girls Advanced Coaching Centre (ACC) is leading by example on how to adapt to the current climate to still provide opportunities for their players and beyond.

After the governments latest announcement, players from across the County prepared for life without football once again. However, the girls from the ACC weren't about to miss out!

Chloe Brown (Head of Girls Talent Pathway) and her team put their heads together and put together a programme that could take place every Friday on Zoom, to enable the girls to continue to get their football fix! This fantastic idea includes various different exercises that can all be done from the comfort of your own home. Not only is this open to the players involved in the programme but has been opened up to any girls that are currently playing for a Northants FA affiliated club, demonstrating the effort being made to improve girls football further across County despite the ongoing situation and is just one example of the ACC's hard work across the last few years.

The sessions will take place on Fridays 6:20-7pm with the doors opening 5 minutes before the session start time. The session will run with 20 minutes physical performance between 6:20-6:40pm followed by 20 minutes of ball mastery between 6:40-7pm. All we ask is that you just fill in the form below prior to the session for your child.

What is the Advanced Coaching Centre?

Northamptonshire FA’s Girls Talent Pathway is the first official step on the England Talent Pathway for girls across the county. The pathway involves an FA licensed Advanced Coaching Centre which offers talented players the opportunity to be identified and selected for England squads. The centre offers talented female players between U9-U16 the opportunity to train with other talented players across the county, accessing specialised technical, physical and psychological support to help players develop into the best player they could be. The centre also offers a number of fixtures against other county Advanced Coaching Centres in the East region and against boys teams from within the county. Players still play for their grassroots clubs alongside this additional support, with players coming from a mixture of girls football, mixed football and a range of clubs.
