Inspirational Women

Northants Football then wanted to here about who inspired individuals to get involved in the women's game.

Female players and their influences

'The Loake Family Amy Joanne Jade Loake Danny Loake - for giving up their time for so long, always supporting women’s football & for putting up with me and Amy Mullett for many years, always encouraging us to push on further and take opportunities. Oh… and the wagon wheels.
Jackie Bushell - The legend. From u10’s at Northampton Town to now…I’m lucky enough to call her my friend. Flying the flag always for women to achieve.
Stuart Smith - the mighty Stu Smith introducing futsal to females in Northamptonshire. I’ve been able to play NFS futsal because of you and the work you did. 👏'

'Jackie Brookes-
Gave girls the opportunity to play football in secondary school! She listened and then delivered! Put her heart and soul into it to make sure girls could play competitively at school which helped many move onto ladies football after school!'

'Adam Matthew Knight for us!
His passion and drive for girls football is insurmountable! He has supported myself to develop my coaching and my daughter to progress with her own football and does this for everyone! A complete inspiration!'

'Russell Lewis, always included girls at his Saturday clubs and holiday clubs.'

We also wanted to find out how the Euros had impact some of the leading role models in the county for Women's Football. We caught up with Claire Stancliffe (England and Great Britain Deaf team)  who had the following to say on the recent success:
