NFA GAMECHANGER YOUTH FOOTBALL CONFERENCES POST EVENT REPORT

Take a look at the summary data collected across the 7 conferences 

Across April and May Northants Football hosted seven youth football conferences to capture the views of key stakeholders involved in the grassroots community. The data collected would look to help shape the organisations operational planning for the upcoming season alongside helping to develop a youth engagement strategy. During the conferences the NFA shared the organisations’ current structure and the targets that they are measured against. To steer formulate the conversation the organisation was split into four key areas:

• Development - The actions and tactics used to encourage the improvement and sustainability of the game, supporting the workforce within it
• Operations - Oversees and supports the governance of leagues and clubs affiliated to Northamptonshire
• Facilities - The improvement and development of grounds and pitches across Northamptonshire
• Safeguarding - Protect the Health, Well-being, and Human Rights of individuals, which allow people — especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults to live free from abuse, harm, and neglect

Football Development Manager Luke Scott had this to say on the events:

'The Northants FA Gamechanger Youth Football Conference’s were a vital part of our consultation process before starting our planning for the 2022-23 season and the contribution of all the fantastic volunteers who attended is greatly valued by us at Northants FA.  It was great to see so many people turn out to help shape the future of grassroots football in Northamptonshire and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to better understand the challenges our clubs face, whilst also getting the opportunity to hear about all of the great work & best practice that is being demonstrated across all our brilliant grassroots clubs.'

As part of the events, any young people in attendance completed an activity designed by the NFA team to find out what children value most whilst playing football. The results of this task can be seen below:
